ELISSA WILKES (BARDEN)

Principal OT / Clinical Manager

With two decades of experience working in complex clinical environments, Elissa has seen firsthand the challenges therapists face in an ever-evolving industry. Her work has spanned seating and wheelchair prescription, manual handling, functional assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration, building a deep understanding of the demands placed on clinicians.

Over time, Elissa noticed a consistent theme: therapists expressing uncertainty, overwhelm, and a lack of accessible support when navigating seating and wheelchair scripting. Technologies continue to advance, yet the guidance available to clinicians hasn’t kept pace. Postgraduate education in this space is limited, and many therapists are left without clear pathways to build the capabilities they need … especially in real time and at their own level of experience.

In response, Elissa has started to pivot Total Rehab to focus on education and clinical support … developing resources and training that meet therapists where they are. Her goal is to simplify the complexity, provide clarity, and offer meaningful professional development that supports confident, informed decision-making in seating practice.

Outside of work, Elissa enjoys life with her young family, spending time outdoors camping, and eating chocolate.

NICK WILKES

Business Operations & Digital Support

Nick has been a behind-the-scenes force at Total Rehab since joining the team full-time in 2018. With a background in the entertainment industry as an Audio Engineer, Technical Coordinator, and Entertainment Manager, he brings a unique blend of technical know-how and operational savvy to the business.

As the health industry continues to evolve, Nick plays a key role in keeping the team up to date with changing requirements, ensuring services are delivered within legal and ethical frameworks. He manages service agreements, invoicing, and business systems, and has been instrumental in developing the education and training platform. Where Elissa brings clinical expertise, Nick fills the gaps in IT … building the infrastructure that makes learning and support possible.

Nick is passionate about genuine customer service and values strong relationships with clients and partners. Outside of work, he’s a keen fisherman, enjoys camping and motorsports, and spends most of his spare time chasing after his two kids.
